The main aim of the W.A. Folk Federation is the promotion of folk arts in W.A., particularly music, dance, verse and yarns.

We produce a magazine (the 'Town Crier') every 2 months which contains news and information relevant to the W.A. folk scene, (including a guide and calendar of the clubs and events in W.A.).

The major event for 2005 was the "Brookton Music Mix" an event run in conjunction with the Brookton Shire which involved a number of concerts & workshops and a bush dance. The response from the event was very encouraging and hopefully will be run again in 2006.

We have an number of events during the year including The Jackadders Music Club, The Brookton Music Mix, River Folk and more. To keep in touch with concerts, dances etc. keep your eyes on the WA Folk & Acoustic Calendar or consider joining the WAFF to take advantage of discounts as well as being kept informed of what is happening with folk music in W.A. via our email service and the Town Crier. We are open to suggestions for more things to help to nurture folk music and dance in W.A. so drop us a line or give us a call.
